AWS Cloud Connect Pokhara 2026

AWS Cloud Connect Pokhara 2026 ran as two things at once: a meetup for the business houses operating in and around Pokhara, and a training session for the people who would have to do the work. Holding both on the same day was deliberate — decisions about cloud adoption are made by one group and carried out by another, and they rarely sit in the same room.

The meetup side was about the commercial case. Which workloads are worth moving, what the migration actually costs against what running the current setup costs, and where the local skills to sustain it are going to come from. Partners and contributing organisations were recognised from the front table, which is part of how a regional cloud community builds a record of who is actually investing in it.

The training side was technical and concrete, working up the stack to the data layer — where a relational engine like RDS or Aurora is the right answer, and where a key-value store like DynamoDB is — because the choice is one of the few that is expensive to reverse once a system is in production.

Pokhara is Nepal's second commercial centre and has a technology sector of its own, but the events that shape cloud adoption are still concentrated in Kathmandu. Running Cloud Connect in the city, with its own businesses in the room rather than as an audience for someone else's market, is the reason the day was structured this way.
